Verification Policy

Verification labels describe what an administrator checked and should never imply a guarantee, endorsement, or complete background investigation.

Possible labels

Labels may be added or removed by an administrator.

Identity Confirmed: specified identity evidence was reviewed.
Local Resident: reasonable evidence of local residency was reviewed.
Local Business: the business and representative relationship were reviewed.
Community Organization: the organization and representative relationship were reviewed.
Public Agency Source: the account or source relationship was reviewed.
Site Contributor: the account has an established contribution role.
Moderator: the account has current moderation responsibilities.

Limits

A label does not prove that every statement, product, service, transaction, interaction, credential, or future action is safe or accurate.

Users remain responsible for exercising reasonable judgment and protecting their privacy and safety.

Administration

Verification occurs outside the public plugin workflow and is managed by administrators.

Labels may expire, require renewed evidence, or be removed when information changes, evidence becomes unreliable, an account is transferred, or platform rules are violated.
